Roamkeeper

Privacy policy

Last updated: 1 October 2026

Roamkeeper is made by Saverio Tonon. This policy explains what the app does with your information. The short version: it collects nothing, and there is no server for it to collect anything to.

What Roamkeeper collects

Nothing. Roamkeeper has no account, no sign-in and no analytics. It makes no network requests of its own — there is no server, so there is nowhere for your information to be sent and nobody to receive it.

What Roamkeeper stores, and where

Everything you enter stays on your iPhone, in a storage area shared between the app and its widgets:

  • the roaming packages you set up, and their allowances
  • your trips, with their dates and the country you chose
  • your usage log, including the estimated data figure and anything you logged by hand
  • your settings, including alert thresholds and your home country

This data is included in your device backup if you back up your iPhone, which is governed by Apple’s privacy policy, not this one. Deleting the app deletes the data.

Mobile data usage

Roamkeeper estimates how much cellular data you have used by reading counters that iOS keeps about your device’s own network interfaces. It reads totals. It cannot see, and does not record, which apps used the data, which sites you visited, or anything about the contents of your traffic.

These figures never leave your iPhone.

Location

Location is optional and switched off by default. The app works fully without it.

If you turn on Only count while abroad in Settings, Roamkeeper asks for location access “While Using the App”. It then needs to turn your coordinates into a country, so that data used at home is not charged to a trip abroad.

That step sends your coordinates to Apple. iOS provides no way to convert a location into a country name on the device, so Roamkeeper uses Apple’s geocoding service, as every app that does this must. That exchange is between your iPhone and Apple, and is covered by Apple’s privacy policy.

Roamkeeper receives back a two-letter country code — “FR”, “IT” — and stores only that code, on your device. Your coordinates are not stored, not logged, and not sent anywhere else. Switching the setting off stops this entirely.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, Roamkeeper schedules them locally on your iPhone when an allowance passes a threshold you chose. There is no push server and no push token.

Children

Roamkeeper is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone, of any age.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be noted in the app’s release notes.
